Organism is delighted to announce their next organ CD release: New Zealand Organ Music – Richard Apperley. This groundbreaking disc features organ music by some of New Zealand's most talented composers recorded on a variety of significant instruments around Wellington, performed by Richard Apperley, Assistant Director of Music at the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul.

For most non-Jews around the world, one of the defining characteristics of Jewish music is that it tends to be vocal, perhaps mixed with portable instruments such as the violin, clarinet or guitar and/or accordion, but the organ is usually notably absent from the list. The organ has been used in the Christian church for so many centuries, at least in the West, that instrument and institution are highly linked in the public mind.
